Hi everyone. Hope fully i can now start my own diary, so far i have been able to make comments on everyones diaries, which i hope have been useful. I do find it useful to be able to write in this forum, any tips, weight loss etc, as everyones diaries so far have really spurred me on.

I started the diet last Thursday, so its my weigh-in day tomorrow. I can’t believe I’ve lost anything as i haven’t felt like i’ve been on a diet at all. All the meals have been so tasty, especially the granola since i discovered making it with warm milk and powdered sweetener, made it taste like flapjack. The granola was the only bit i wasn’t looking forward to, but since warming the milk in the microwave i love it.

Will report my hopeful weight loss tomorrow.

Hi everyone,My name is Heather and I’ve just started the Diet Chef Diet.

I’m 44 am have decided to try the diet chef Diet as a last resort. My daughter got engaged at the New Year, she’s told me she wants to get married on a hot beach in the Caribbean, gosh all the bare skin.

I’ve told her she can’t get married until I’d lost 3 stone :-) My weight this morning is 13st & 4lbs. My first box arrived today, it was like Christmas :-)

I had the parsnip soup for lunch mmmmmmmmmmmm! it was lush and the chilli for my tea, that was very nice too. I hope all the other meals are as nice.If anyone would like to give me any tips or just chat I would love to here from you.

Regards Heather.

Hi Everyone

Have just completed a full week on the plan now and start week 2 today.  Weighed myself this morning before going to work and weighed in at 12st 3lbs which is a total weight loss of 6lbs in the first week, so another 2 lbs since Friday night. How pleased am I???  Chuffed to bits I am and raring to go this week.

Attended another meeting today in the same hotel as Friday and celebrated with a Danish which I substituted for my lunch.  Not really ideal but I really enjoyed it and didn’t feel guilty for eating it.  Don’t know how many calories it had in it, probably hundreds!!!!  That’s my treat for the week, not that I plan to do this every week.  Next time I will buy an item of clothing to slim into which is more worthwhile, probably cost more as well but will definitely last longer than a couple of minutes!!

Really looking forward to doing another week on the plan.  The only hard thing is choosing what to have for lunch and dinner as everything is so tasty!!!  Even harder is choosing something for my hubby to eat that doesn’t take long to cook.  I think I will have to make him up some meals to freeze, then making the dinner will just be a matter of re-heating like mine.  Or better still, get him on the plan as well  (he does need to lose a few pounds!!) then everything will be soooo much easier then.  I will work on him.

Working from home the rest of the week so no temptations to stray.  Will update on Sunday with weight loss as going away for a couple of days next Monday so won’t be able to access PC.

Good Luck everyone and keep us all posted.

Well the good news is that last week was a really good week diet-wise.  Still no exercise as I’m still laid up with a trick hip but the convenience of this plan means that preparing my food doesn’t keep me on my feet for long (although preparing hubby and bruv’s food is another matter entirely)…..

Anyway, hubby was away at a bike rally this weekend and bruv was on nights so I should have had the place to myself.  However my sister decided that since I couldn’t go on a girls night out, she would bring it to me, so Saturday night wasn’t good (or should I say it was - just not for the weightloss plan).   1 bottles of wine and a pizza each later, she collapsed on the sofa and I retired to bed - damage done!  Added to which I cooked a full sunday lunch yesterday as hubby wanted real food when he got home from his motorbike rally…….all in all the weekend was a recipe for disaster!

The net result of this is a weigh in of 264lb and that I seem to have accumulated 5 lb (in addition to however the diet went last week - no cheating so I have no idea if i lost any weight prior to the night of debauchery).

Back on the wagon this morning - I’ll shortly be having Granola, yoghurt and fruit for breakfast!!

Hi everyone.  Received my Wii fitness today which I have just been playing on.  My weight was showing 12st 5lb which is a loss of 4lb since starting on Monday.  (I also have a Wii fitness age of 38 which is 4 years younger than I am, which again I was chuffed about seeing as I don’t do any exercise)I was gobsmacked and had to run upstairs to check my weight on the scales there and lo and behold it showed 12st 5lb as well.  I am well chuffed to say the least.  I didn’t think I would lose as much weight after only 4 and a half days on the plan. I feel as though I am eating more than usual as the portion sizes are so reasonable.  I haven’t felt hungry once and I am still eating my 5 portions of fruit and veg each day.

To date I have tried the Parsnip, Pea and Ham and Beef and Tomato soups for lunch and they are all sooooo tasty and filling.  The soups alone keep me full for up to 4 hours.  For the dinners I have had the mushroom stroganoff which is to die for it is so delicious, the chilli, venison sausages and mutton stew.  My husband is sick of me saying how tasty everything is at mealtimes.  I’ve added veg at dinner and have fruit with the granola and for mid morning snack.  Its just hard to believe that every dish, although low in calories could be so tasty, I find myself looking forward to my mealtimes, not because of hunger but because they are all so delicious. One thing I have noticed as well is that I don’t feel as bloated and I certainly don’t feel deprived of anything as I did with other diets.

Another good thing is that I haven’t craved sweets or chocolate once!!! As I am a self confessed chocaholic normally.  Today I had a meeting in a hotel so couldn’t take lunch with me, so I opted for a cheese and apple salad, which came minus the apple as the chef forgot to add it to the plate, nevertheless I couldn’t manage to eat it all as I was still full from breakfast and I hadn’t had my apple as my mid-morning snack!!

Can’t wait to try the new dishes, it’s just a shame I have to wait another 3 weeks before I receive another hamper as I ordered a months supply to motivate me.  Not that I need it on this plan.  You can’t really call it a diet as you are eating such delicious food.  Even shop bought ready meals don’t come close to being as tasty and delicious as the ones on the plan and they are so convenient.

Good luck everyone with your weight loss, it’s nice to hear how you are getting on and reading your stories and comments.  I will weigh in on Monday as I will have done a full week on the plan but todays weigh- in has really spurred me on.

Hi everyone, my name is Julie, or Jules as everyone calls me. I am 42 years old (very soon to be 43) and live in Harwich, Essex. I started the Diet Chef plan this morning.

My weigh in this morning was 12st 9lbs, my heaviest weight yet!!!! I gave birth to my third son 20 weeks ago and I am heavier now that when I was full term with him and still have the stomach to show for it!!!! I am also due to be a bridesmaid at my brothers wedding in August in St. Lucia so as well as my goal of fitting in a decent size dress I also want to be able to flaunt my body in a bikini (I haven’t worn one in more than 10 years).

I had my first dress fitting last month and had to opt for a size 18 (ouch) as this was the only size that I could zip up the back. Despite the shop owner saying that the dresses come up small so we had to opt for the next dress size up, this still makes me a size 16!! The next fitting is not due now until July and my aim is for the shop to have enough dress material left over from taking my dress in to make another one, here’s hoping.

I have tried various diets before, from Slimfast, Weight Watchers and even the Atkins. The Slimfast I felt deprived of food twice a day drinking the shakes, Weight watchers I didn’t always have the time to prepare the meals and the Atkins, athough I did lose a stone, I missed the fruit and put the weight straight back on once I stopped following it.

I was browsing the web one day, as you do, and came across the Diet Chef website. Reading the stories of people who were following it spurned me on to join. I like the fact that it is real food and ready prepared for you, short of someone actually coming into your home and cooking every meal for you, this is ideal.. The convenience of warming them up in the microwave means I can either take them out to the office or take them in a flask for lunch. My job since returning from Maternity leave varies from working mostly from home to travellng to and from meetings at the office and various other places, so I can take a flask with my lunch in and also my breakfast if I need to set off early, which I sometimes do. The cost of the plan is also very reasonable and it’s nice to know I have meals for the next 4 weeks and the food was delivered less than 24 hours after I ordered it, how good is that???. With 3 boys under 7, as well as my husband Jeff , I have my hands full working full-time and looking after them as well. Jeff sometimes needs more looking after than the boys!! You have to meet him to believe this!!

I had the Granola for breakfast which I carefully weighed out. I must admit I was a bit disappointed with the amount that was in the bowl, but I added 5 sliced strawberries and ate it with skimmed milk. It was delicious and I felt full until 11.30 when I had an apple. For lunch I had the Parsnip soup which again was delicious and quite filling, a generous portion size as well. My downfall is never knowing what size portions of food to eat which is probably where my weight gain comes in.

I am limited in exercise activity due to a back condition, (ankylosing spondylitis) which is basically an athritic condition of the sacro-iliac joints which can be quite painful and can lead to stiffness and immobility. I also have 3 degenerative discs which I have had 3 operations on, all of which were unsuccessful and as a result I suffer from Sciatic quite a lot. However I have ordered the new Wii fitness which arrives this Friday which I hope to use regularly doing some light exercise (cheaper than going to the gym). Providing that is, I can get on it as my other 2 boys are always on it when not at school.

Have put the Mushroom Stroganoff aside for dinner tonight which I will have with Spinach and broccoli. If it tastes as good as it looks on the packaging I won’t be disappointed.

Well I will sign off now for today and will update you later on in the week on my progress.

Good luck to all you others on the plan.

Jules
